Yes, visitors are warmly welcome. You can meet the animals, cuddle cats and walk dogs. For many, it is the best moment of their trip.

For example towels, blankets, baskets and disposable pads, foldable carrier bags, leashes, harnesses, collars, food and water bowls, cat toys, snuffle mats, chew toys and lick mats, cat treats, dental sticks, a brush and flea comb, poop bags, as well as bandages and wound care supplies.

Gladly! Message us before your trip and we’ll tell you what is most urgently needed. Please buy large bags of food locally, as they are too heavy for suitcases and flights.

You support an animal from €10 a month and choose the amount yourself. Our target is around €50 per animal per month, mainly for ongoing food costs. Get in touch and we’ll tell you which animals still need sponsors.

Yes. That way several people can look after one animal together and share in its care.

Yes. You receive a personal sponsorship certificate with your name and your animal’s name, regular photos and updates.

Your donation directly supports animal welfare on the ground on Zanzibar: emergency medical treatment, food, water and shelter, the construction of the animal clinic, vaccination and neutering programmes, and transport and care for rescued animals. Every euro helps save lives.

Yes. Rescue Paws of Zanzibar e. V. is a registered non-profit association in Germany (register of associations VerR 4043, Amtsgericht Fritzlar). This allows us to collect donations transparently and securely and to invest them specifically in our cooperation with Zanzibar Animal Care (Zacare). You can follow the projects at any time on Instagram and in our news section.

Yes. As a registered non-profit association in Germany, we can issue you a tax-deductible donation receipt. Email us at rescuepawsofzanzibar@web.de with your full name, address and the date and amount of your transfer. We’ll send it as soon as possible by email or post. Important: a donation receipt can only be issued for bank transfers.

Yes. We are happy about people who support us directly at the shelter, whether with feeding, care or veterinary knowledge. Just let us know when you’ll be on Zanzibar.

No. Besides vets and people with veterinary experience, animal lovers and general helpers are welcome too. Medical tasks depend on qualification.

Yes, vets and people with veterinary experience are especially welcome.

Volunteers generally organise and pay for their own accommodation. We cooperate with accommodation nearby where volunteers can get better rates. Rides to the shelter can be organised.
